Niila
In the book "Popular Music from Vittula" by Mikael Niemi, the boys Niila and Matti discover Rock'n Roll in such an honest way that the band was inspired by the tragic but charming person Niila for the band name.
Additionally inspired by the rough sound of garage rock and the sweet lightness of indie pop, Niila follow this narrow path without losing their love for the loud and distorted. They unleash guitar and rgel storms, only to tell stories of curiosity, love, death and departure again in the next moment with sugar-sweet melodies. Dramatic indie-pop ballads that tell secrets without claiming the whole truth.
Sometimes quite simple, direct and youthfully naive, then again mysterious, bittersweet and dramatic they tell of love and death, friendship and farewell, of curiosity and uncertainty.
