Everyday poetry/ beat/ synth pop! Some time ago OK KID said of themselves that they had taken German rap off the streets and put dancing shoes on him.
They have created a new sound aesthetic, which is not closed off from tricky beats as well as from synthie-pop pathos. Here raw live band sound flirts with naked everyday lyrics. Even if the shell looks different, the language, the attitude and the gift of telling stories in pictures, maybe it has more to do with rap than the guys themselves would admit.
The band is not concerned with genres but simply with the claim to make good German music. Without raising an index finger, OK KID tell about the lives of powerless affluent children, crawling city neurotics and missed opportunities - combined with the desire to hold on to something.
